About Us

Vancouver Sejong is an educational initiative operated by SEJONG KOREAN SOCIETY, a non-profit organization incorporated in British Columbia in 2023. Our mission is to promote the Korean language and share the richness of Korean culture with communities across Canada.

While Vancouver Sejong is best known for its high-quality Korean language instruction, our work goes far beyond language education. We offer a wide range of programs and events that help learners and community members experience the depth and diversity of Korean heritage.

Our language classes serve learners of all ages and levels—from complete beginners to fluent speakers—through engaging, practical, and inclusive instruction. We integrate real-life scenarios, cultural elements, and contemporary topics into the curriculum, ensuring that learners gain not just fluency, but cultural literacy.

In addition, SEJONG KOREAN SOCIETY organizes seasonal cultural events, such as Seollal (Lunar New Year) and Chuseok (Harvest Festival) celebrations, traditional music and dance performances, Korean cooking classes, hanbok experiences, and film screenings. We also host participatory cultural activities such as kimchi-making workshops, K-POP dance experiences, and other hands-on events that bring Korean traditions and modern culture to life. These events are open to the public and aim to build bridges between Korean and Canadian communities through shared experiences and dialogue.

Our vision is to build a vibrant, intercultural community rooted in understanding, respect, and connection. Through both language and culture, SEJONG KOREAN SOCIETY is committed to making Korean heritage accessible, enjoyable, and meaningful for everyone.
